Best Time of Year to go on a Honeymoon in Lake Tahoe

The ideal time to visit this outstanding mountainous spot for the summer months would be from May to September where you can relax in the beautiful nature surrounding yourself in the Californian sun. With warm weather comes beachgoers and jet skiers in July and August, giving newlyweds plenty of options for water sports and adventures.

The summer months also bring the perfect weather for any outdoor activity, with temperatures typically ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s during the day, cooling down to comfortable evenings perfect for romantic lakeside dinners.

During the peak summer season, the lake truly comes alive. The long daylight hours mean you can pack more activities into each day, from early morning paddleboarding sessions to sunset cruises across the crystalline waters. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting in late May or early September when the weather is still beautiful but the crowds have thinned out.

However, if you're exploring honeymoon destinations in winter, the cooler months from December to March is when honeymooners come to ski down the idyllic mountains and feel as if they are falling into the lake. Make sure to book far in advance in order to set up some fun activities where you can relax at the lodge.

It’s important to note that winter holidays, particularly the weeks around Christmas and New Years, are especially popular for winter activities such as skiing, so early reservations are essential for securing the best accommodations and activity slots.

Shoulder seasons, specifically late spring and early fall also offer their own unique charm. In April and early May, you might catch the tail end of ski season while also enjoying emerging wildflowers at lower elevations. October brings stunning fall colors to the surrounding forests, fewer crowds, and often excellent weather for outdoor activities.
